Devastating Update on UPS Incident: Fatalities Rises to 13

The total count of lives lost due to the freight aircraft that burst into flames and crashed has climbed to 13, per official statements.

Official's Statement

Traveling to the Teamsters’ memorial service, I learned of a thirteenth victim that died as a result of the plane crash,” expressed the local official in a social media post. “My prayers are with the relatives, companions and peers of all who were taken in this week’s disaster. We will endure this collectively.”

Casualties Identified

An announcement from the company named the flight crew operating the jet as Pilot Richard Wartenberg, Co-pilot Lee Truitt, and International Relief Officer Dana Diamond.

“Our thoughts are extended to every employee who has been impacted and everyone in our community community – assisting you and making sure you obtain the care and assistance you need is our main concern,” the company’s message read.

Probe Updates

Federal authorities disclosed that the jet’s wing burst into flames and an motor separated soon after departure from the airfield, leading to the aircraft to crash and burst into a blaze.

The NTSB stated it is investigating the aircraft’s upkeep logs, which was in Texas for maintenance weeks prior to the crash.

Flight tracking data revealed the plane was on the runway in the Texas city from early September to last week.

“We are knowledgeable that this plane was present in that city,” said an NTSB member on the following day, not giving a precise time frame. “We will examine all elements of repairs that was completed, including the San Antonio visit, straight to the time of the journey.”

Findings of Key Components

The audio device and information unit were retrieved, and the engine was discovered on the runway.

The devices – known as black boxes – were built to survive accident forces and severe heat from fires, and they looked to be intact when located within the wreckage. Officials intend to reviewing recordings from the recorders.

The plane’s concluding data recordings showed an elevation of 475 ft and a speed of 210 mph prior to the impact.

Service History

According to FAA files from that date, a fracture on a component within the tank area required maintenance.

The company ST Engineering, which said it offers aircraft servicing for the carrier’s aircraft and manages a service location in that city, chose not to comment, but expressed it would work closely when relevant authorities approached it.

Operations Restart

At the same time, the hub activities resumed last night with its overnight or night sort procedure, spokesperson the company official confirmed. The three landing strips at the airport were also reopened.

The UPS package handling facility in the city is the organization’s largest. The hub employs over 20,000 workers in the locality, processes three hundred trips daily and organizes more than a huge volume of packages an hour.

Public Response

A memorial was conducted on the late afternoon of 6 November by the local labor union, which represents employees at the airfield, the firm’s primary freight center.

The union chapter, which stands for staff, started the memorial with a quiet tribute at that time, the rough hour of the accident two days earlier.

“This event was so sudden, so unforeseen,” the official spoke to the assembly of 200. “No one had a opportunity to bid farewell to any of those who we have said farewell to.”
